Colton Orr Signed By Leafs

The New York Rangers today let the best young enforcer in the league walk for nothing! If you've been reading PuckCentral you know that I've predicted since the end of the season that the Rangers would not be resigning Orr. I also predicted that Brian Burke would be more than happy to sign Orr to a multi-year contract in Toronto. Well, just over one hour into free agency, Colton Orr was given a four year deal worth $1M per season.

Per TSN:
The Toronto Maple Leafs have dipped in the free agent market signing forward Colton Orr to a four-year contract worth $4 million.
Orr, 27, played the last four seasons with the New York Rangers and tallied five points and 193 penalty minutes last season.
All I can say at this point is that I'm extremely pissed off at Glen Sather and John Tortorella. As far as I can see there is no replacing Colton Orr, he was a top three ! fighter in the NHL and the best young fighter. It's absolutely disgraceful that Orr was allowed to walk.

Thanks for the memories KOlton, you were a great Ranger and you'll remain my favorite player in the NHL, even if you don't wear the Broadway Blue anymore. I'll continue to wear my "Orr" home jersey to the Garden. How the hell do you allow a fan favorite and a guy that wears his heart on his sleeve get away? Seriously, this better not be the direction the Rangers are heading in, I for one don't want to watch a team that gets pushed around on a nightly basis.
